I'm high raw vegan. My spiritual path is the most important thing in my life. And I would only consider someone who is equally on a serious spiritual path, and can respect mine. I meditate twice a day for about 2 hours total. I love nature, traveling and immersing myself in new cultures, hiking, yoga, belly dancing, reading spiritual books, learning new languages.  Would love to relocate to warmer climate with more fresh produce available year around. This is me in a nutshell :)  Will add more later.

Smart and funny vegetarian. Kind of a neat freak. I believe in God and study the word, but do not attend a church. Love to go out but I really like experimenting with new recipes at home. Kind of a geek, I would be completely fine with a national go to work as your favorite comic book character day. I love yoga and fitness.

Keirsey's description of the INTJ captures some aspects of me pretty well.

I am a Ph.D student studying forest ecology and work for a goverment contractor doing GIS. When I am not working hard in the lab I enjoy the outdoors, hanging out with good friends, and meeting new people. I enjoy hanging out in a low-key atmosphere with a small group of my close and good friends. My friends are important to me . I enjoy completely exhausting myself on long runs or curling up with a stack of movies and lounging out on the couch all day long. I love cooking delicious food. My friends tell me I an easy-going guy.

Late Bloomer in many ways...well I am a little of many things. I am in introvert but I can entertain a crowd pretty well actually. I can make you laugh-I am a quick thinker. I am masculine energy/initiator so in that vein I am better matched up with a feminine energy feeling/sensual type whose feelings I can cherish above my own while I work on being a good decider of what I need to do. Quick facts:I like comedies on tv probably too much. I enjoy conversation and ideas. I have big plans that are all in my head about how to help a lot of people someday. I am trying to act on those a little here and there. I like drums and rock and roll very much and have quite a passion for music and dance. I feel kind of nauseated when i see the way animals r treated at the meathouses. I am a believer in financial literacy & I see a lot of pain in the world from ignoring the facts about money. PLZ DON'T ONLY PUSH THE FAVORITE BUTTON! Because it will be anonymous and I won't know who you are UNLESS YOU WINK AT ME!! SO GO AHEAD & WINK PLEASE!

I appreciate it when I meet someone and we are able to have meaningful, free-flowing conversation... where we're both comfortable enough to be ourselves, and I leave feeling as though I truly got to know the essence of the person I just talked to.

Search my purse & you’ll always pull out a book. I just finished reading “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho.  I read it again after devouring it 6 years ago, but felt like I was reading it for the first time.  Love it when that happens! I'm now reading "The Aleph".

Thanksgiving Day is my favorite holiday (people tend to volunteer more & they are kinder to each other) plus, we all tend to be in a state of gratitude and focused on what we have vs. what we don’t have…(if only EVERY day could be Thanksgiving:)

I just moved to the DC area, and I work from home. So I like to take full advantage of my weekends to get out and about, meet new people, and explore different neighborhoods.

Fall is my favorite time of the year!  There's so much to enjoy: festivals, crisp weather, foilage, being able to sip a cup of tea while sitting on a park bench, hiking, or just strolling around the city taking in the sites.

I have a Shih-Tzu named Kai, and although he is 9 years old, he is still a puppy at heart.  We have been going to this park nearby for long walks, and I don't know who enjoys this more, me or him!

Travel is a passion of mine (I get to do some travel for work and that keeps my wanderlust in check). My goal is to visit all man-made seven wonders by the end of 2015. I have 2 down (Machu-Pichu & Chichen-Itza) only 5 to go! Next on the list...India's Taj Mahal. Care to join me?

Nothing lifts my mood like a rainstorm, and I enjoy the calm of the very early morning. I like animals better than I like most people.

I write code for money. When I'm not writing code I'm reading, gaming, watching movies, or making things. I believe there are few better things a person can do with themselves than take up a creative hobby.

I'm a military veteran. I work as a graphic designer for the Pentagon. Health and fitness are an important part of my life. I have compassion for all life. I stay away from negativity and I simply try to be a good person and enjoy life. I try to read and meditate every day. I'm a highly motivated man and continually strive everyday to learn and advance myself as a person. I used to focus all my energy on being succesful but now I focus on living a life of meaning and purpose and contributing to the world.

ETHNICITY: I'm Korean-American.  I was born in the United States.  I appreciate my heritage, but note, I don't speak Korean fluently at all.  I just know a few words and phrases.

MY PHOTOS: I look different in my photos because I lost weight when I changed my diet:

Black Dress Photo taken in June 2015, before I went Whole Foods, Plant-Based (WFPB), SOS-Free (no added salt, no added oil, and no added sugar) Vegan;

Burgundy Dress Photo taken in August 2016, where I had been WFPB SOS-Free Vegan for about 8 months;

Red Sweater Photo taken in January 2017;

Golf Photo taken in June 2016 (I'm not really into golf, but my mom likes me to play golf with her);

and the Soup Photo taken in May 2016 (this is Dr. McDougall's recipe for Moroccan Chickpea Soup, it allows for adding salt, but I don't add salt to anything).  My current BMI is 19.7, and I feel great.

VEGGIE JOURNEY: Most people go vegan for one of three reasons: health benefits, concern for animals, or the environment.  I am mainly interested in veganism for the health benefits.  I have had vegetarian tendencies since I was a teenager.  I was a lacto-ovo-pesco-vegetarian for many years in my twenties.  I tried the raw vegan diet in 2009 for eight months.  I felt better in the beginning, but I missed starch, so I decided it's not for me.  Now I eat a Whole Foods, Plant-Based (WFPB), SOS-Free (meaning a diet without any added salt, oil, and sugar/sweeteners) Vegan Diet, oh and I also eat a mostly gluten-free diet as well.  My favorite WFPB, SOS-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan recipe books are Bravo! by Chef Ramses Bravo and Straight Up Food by Cathy Fisher.  I also like tweaking the recipes in the PlantPure Nation Cookbook by Kim Campbell to be SOS-Free and Gluten-Free.

HOW VEGAN AM I?: While I'm a strict dietary vegan, I'm still transitioning concerning clothing material.  I still wear leather/suede/wool clothes and shoes. I'm keeping what I already have in my closet, but going forward, I'm trying not to purchase such items anymore.  Recently I acquired a coat with faux fur and a faux leather skirt.  I have switched some of my makeup to cruelty-free, vegan brands/formulations, but not all of it.  And I'm ok buying non-vegan foods for others, like my co-workers (they love M&M's) and my parents (they're not going to switch to vegan, I know this, so I don't force veganism upon them).

SPIRITUALITY: I grew up Methodist, but I don't go to church anymore.  I believe in God and interfaith understanding.  I also believe in reincarnation.

I WANT KIDS: I definitely want to have at least one child.

WOULD I RELOCATE?: I live in the Washington DC Metropolitan area and am open to relocating within the Washington DC Metropolitan area, as I can still stay at my current job.  However, relocating far away is unlikely as I would have to quit my job.  Are you willing to relocate to DC?

FAV MUSIC: These days I listen to a lot of Michael Buble and also the Hamilton the Musical album.

FAV BOOKS: One of my favorite business/leadership type of books is Great By Choice: Uncertainty, Chaos, and Luck -- Why Some Thrive Despite Them All by Jim Collins.  I also like Start With Why by Simon Sinek and Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek.  Two years ago I read Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow.  I admire Alexander Hamilton and wrote a paper on him in high school for History class.  I like that Hamilton was a proponent of consumption taxes instead of income taxes.  My favorite vegan diet type of books are The China Study by Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Whole by Dr. T. Colin Campbell, How Not To Die by Dr. Michael Greger, The Starch Solution by Dr. McDougall, and The Pleasure Trap by Dr. Goldhamer and Dr. Lisle.  Years ago I read Diet for a New America by John Robbins and it opened my eyes a lot.

FAV MOVIES: For fun, I typically enjoy Marvel Comics Superhero movies like Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor.  I also like Tom Hanks movies like Bridge of Spies, Captain Phillips, and Sully.  I like some Pixar movies like Toy Story.  My favorite veggie documentaries include Forks Over Knives, Plant Pure Nation, and Cowspiracy.

FAV BLOGS I FOLLOW: The Art of Manliness blog (one of my favorite series on this blog is The 3 P's of Manhood).  It may seem strange that a female like me reads the AOM blog, but I like the articles on the history of chivalry and such.  And of course, I read plant-based blogs like the PlantPure Nation blog regularly.

FAV YOUTUBE CHANNELS: Happy Healthy Vegan, NutritionFacts, and ChoNunMigookSaram (this is a YT channel by an American woman from Atlanta who moved to Seoul and learned to speak Korean fluently.  It's funny and educational.).  I also like Dr. McDougall's YT Channel, which often features psychologist Dr. Lisle, who was featured in the Forks Over Knives documentary.

FAV PODCASTS: Catherine Austin Fitts' podcast on her site called Solari.  She's an expert on financial and economic issues.

HOBBIES AND FREE TIME: I work a lot, so I don't have a lot of free time.  I do spend a lot of time taking care of my elderly parents.  My father has dementia.  My parents live in California, and I try to visit them a few times a year.  They also fly to visit me a few times a year.  I used to play tennis, go hiking, and go to dance classes regularly, but I don't anymore.  On Sundays I like to cook my plant-based meals for the week and pack them in tupperware.  Cooking WFPB recipes is my creativity outlet.  And recently I started volunteering with a non-profit to educate the public on the health benefits of a SOS-Free WFPB Vegan Diet.  I hope to volunteer once or twice this year (2017) with the Vegetarian Society of DC (VSDC).

TRAVEL: I have traveled to Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, Nairobi, and Seoul.  I'm not really into travel anymore, but someday I would like to attend a Grand Slam Tennis Tournament like the US Open or Roland Garros.  I love watching tennis.

CAREER: I'm an attorney for a federal agency.  I love my job and can picture myself working for as long as I have good health.

POLITICS AND THE ECONOMY: My views on politics and the economy are close to that of Mike Maloney (see his YT Channel).  As he always says, "currency is not money."  I also follow Peter Schiff's podcasts.  And my absolute favorite pundit on politics and finance is Catherine Austin Fitts, who speaks often of the "Central Banking Warfare Model" and "the productive vs the subsidized."  A really good source of economic analysis is Charles Hugh Smith.  For personal finance advice, I generally like Dave Ramsey.  I use his App to make my monthly budget.  He's absolutely right that no one should ever use a credit card (I don't).  However, I disagree with him about gold: I think gold is a good investment.  I'm generally pro-decentralization on most issues.

Hi! My name is Christina. I have been a vegan for 2 years and would really like to experience dating another vegan/vegitarian, an experience I've never had. Other then healthy eating, some of my interests are: foreign film, dancing, painting, writin poetry, spending time in nature, spending time with my animal friends, self reflection, and yoga.  I can't wait to hear about you :)
