I would say that I am pretty balanced and well rounded - I'm an academic (biology and anthropology) who can repair or build all kinds of things. I'm also an artist and traveler. I'm generally clean and organized but not OCD. I'm cultured but not a snob. I generally think outside the mainstream - good thing I don't mind being out of step with the crowd. I'm a lifelong vegetarian and have eaten a mostly plant-based diet for almost 40 years but don't call myself a vegan. I can enjoy a shot of wheatgrass juice or a single-malt scotch. My politics are pretty left - think Noam Chomsky. I am anti-war and don't want to be around racists, bible-thumpers, liars or other kinds of hateful thinking. I want to leave the world a better place as best I can.
I enjoy lots of different kinds of music but can't make any of my own (well I can drum I guess...). I love to get out in nature and hike and photograph. My latest adventures were the solar eclipse in 2017, a safari to Kenya in 2018, Iceland last winter and the southwest this fall - I'd be happy to find someone to join me for the next one! In the future I dream of a net-zero energy home on a lake somewhere.
