Babies and animals love me.I have presence. When I'm in a room you know that I'm there, but not because I'm the best looking.I play chess, listen to jazz, and love to converse. I'm attracted to women with style and substance. I like it when a woman is comfortable in her own skin and is as intentional about developing her person as she is about her appearance. A woman who is well-rounded will always get my attention, especially if she is thoughtful and spiritual,makes material concerns a non-issue, and is convinced that the world is supposed to be a better place because she passed through it.

I am mostly vegan, but eat fish as well. I recently moved back to DC and enjoy meeting people with similar interests.

I actually learned about this website through Victoria Moran's book "Main Street Vegan" and I am very glad I did! I had no idea such a great site existed! I also got to meet her in person and she's terrific.

I recently finished law school and would like to work with kids if all goes according to plan. I have two sweet furry feline friends whom I adore. I am a bit of a movie buff, and know a lot of movie trivia. I also am a polyglot, having studied romance languages most of my life. I like astrology and have been reading a bit about Buddhism recently. I go to the theatre whenever I can. I really like animals and recently took a trip to the Poplar Springs Animal Sanctuary, where I was able to pet a cow for the first time! I'm very excited to meet other vegan/vegetarian-minded people, as most of my friends and family have been a bit weird about it. And lastly, I love to go dancing as long as the place isn't ridiculously loud.

I am looking for someone who is kind and very comfortable being honest, who is very smart but also fun. Interest in theatre/movies is a big plus, as is any knowledge of or interest in the law (since it has been a big part of my life for that last few years). And of course, you would have to be able to be nice to my cats.

I find it difficult to describe myself in a paragraph. I feel like I'm constantly changing on a daily basis. Or at least I hope I am...for the better. I'd say that most people would describe me as being an enjoyable person to be around. But you'd have to share a meal and conversation with me in order to come to your own conclusions about that, now wouldn't you?

Seeking:

I'd like to meet an interesting woman with whom I can share certain life experiences. We should mutually enjoy one another's company. And I don't want to sound overly shallow, but we need to be attracted to each other as well. Personality is the most important factor, though. Having similar food habits (and the choices surrounding what we eat) also seems like as good a characteristic as any to use as a foundation to start a relationship.

I feel blessed -- in many areas of my life. Professionally (as a former counselor / activist turned artist / teacher); socially (with open-hearted friends, a loving family, and interesting colleagues); emotionally (with a strong support system and a real richness via poetry, music, art, silliness); intellectually (with an innate curiosity and broad interests); physically (being relatively healthy, although it does take more yoga / dancing / hiking than it used to!); and spiritually (having intense connections with nature, animals, my home, my dreams, people, and practices from diverse traditions). Someday, I hope to share these blessings with a partner who can match the levels of intimacy, integrity, and caring to which I have become accustomed. :-) Someone with similar values and a "radiance of attention" toward the people and things in their life. I've been lucky in love before; why not again?
