Have a passion for hiking the spectacular Colorado mountain backcountry where I find much spirituality and solace in the remote and wild places. Relaxing by a cool glacial lake or on a peak after a strenous trail work-out is one of my greatest pleasures. Also run and work out reguarly at the gym. Jeans preferred, but clean up pretty well for the occasional night out such as dancing, theater, etc. Enjoy a wide range of other activities and interests such as concerts, festivals, tennis, horseback riding, art galleries, travel, new ideas and adventures -- the list goes on...so many things to do, places to see, and so little time!

I'm crazy in love with my little dog Lilly. I love to sing and dance for pleasure as in kirtan and contra dancing. I'm intuitive, aesthetically sensitive and a purveyor of beauty. Style counts! Chemistry and attractive energy are important to me in discerning friends from lovers. Chemistry is so mysterious, illusive and essential! As far as outward appearance and zest go, I am consistently mistaken for being in my early 40's.

I am almost vegan. No dairy, eggs, meat of any kind. However, I love honey so that's why I can't call myself vegan. I am a long distance runner. I work in Quality Assurance so I am really organized. I love reading mystery books. I'm a Colorado native. I have two cats and one sister. I am a Norwegian/Swedish/American.  Norwegian is my second language. I have a flower garden that makes me happy. My daughter is my most important priority and so being a good dad is what I care most about and am the most passionate about.

I eat a veggie/almost vegan diet (still trying), and my daughter eats a mostly veg diet (this is a tough one, but who woulda thought that she has her own mind?). I might have been a Canada goose in a previous life, or maybe will be one later :) My favorite times are when I get to hang with my daughter, and when I'm hanging with good friends. Doesn't really matter where or what we're doing; the happiness is in just being with people that you love.
We don't have a tv, and that works well for us. We'll watch a dvd on weekends, though, and have a good time with that.

Guess I agree with a bit of the gemini characteristic, whereas I'm seemingly two different people sometimes - don't get me wrong, I'm not flighty or indecisive, sometimes it might just go from funny man to deep thoughts every now and then. I am also a shiny new vegetarian! Specifically a pescatarian (I'll only eat non-farm-raised fish). Being an avid cook for years, this was a very hard thing to do at first, but I could no longer stomach the conditions animals are kept in in order to provide nourishment. I will still gladly create anything for anyone, as my choice is mine and does not require others to eat the same thing I do :) I plan on moving to Denver, Colorado somewhat soon with intentions to enjoy its amazing outdoors, train in the culinary arts while focusing on nouvelle & molecular gastronomy cuisines, with the ultimate goal of opening a restaurant that presents thought-provoking dishes to each of these 3 diet choices artistically, and offering it in 3 ways - Dine-in, Take Home, and Trail; all while showcasing local ingredients and talent whenever possible.

I am currently writing a children's book that will be published this coming fall/winter.  "Hope On The Wing."   Sometimes I wish I was a bird soaring in the air above the mountains, rivers and oceans. I love birds the photo of me with the goose is my pet gander. He was a rescue when he was a gosling from the Colorado River. The children's book is based on my gander Mr. Snow. I will be coauthor of the book in collaboration with my best friend who is an accomplished writer and author.  I was inspired by Emily Dickinson, !924 poem "Hope is the Thing With Feathers."  Two orphaned children who befriend a gosling they name Snow who lost his family in the Colorado River...  The book is scheduled to be out this fall/winter 2012.

I enjoy having that special Saturday evening at home with a home cooked meal prepared from the garden with music and or candles. When there is a chill in the air, stoking a cozy fire is ideal.
