I am am optimistic, happy-go-lucky type. I'm always trying to be in the moment and also find the silver linings in bad situations. I would describe myself as affectionate, intelligent, kind, playful, supportive, cheerful, and loyal.

I am very passionate about my family. I am a stay at home dad with 2 amazing middle school age kids who mean the world to me. Bonus: I have lots of morning and early afternoon flexibility!

Humor is important to me. I like light heated joking around (not at the expense of feelings). I tend to use humor to try to diffuse tense situations. Most of my favorite media revolve around humor.

I am an engineer/scientist at heart and love knowing how and why things work.

I find pride in personally fixing things and keeping them out of the landfills for a little longer. (Usually just replacing switches or internal fuses or re-soldering loose connections)

I love all animals, but cats hold a special place in my heart.

I love the outdoors and everything in it. I enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, biking, the beach, sightseeing, etc. Seeing wildlife is always exciting!

One of my favorite hobbies is gardening. It's mostly for the food (lots of kale, lettuce, tomatoes, raspberries), but a good chunk of it is now also for the bees and bugs with lots of native plants.

I don't personally believe there is a God, but I recognize that no one can know for sure. Most importantly, I don't believe in trying to push one's beliefs on any one else, or anyone being absolutist about religion. Beliefs are just that: beliefs (not facts). Personally I find a lot of Buddhist teachings to resonate with me. I try to approach situations with a beginners mind and lovingkindness.
