Hello? Is anybody out there? Forget about dating or getting married or having kids or whatever it is you think you want, that you think will make you happy, because it wont. And all the drugs in the world or the antidepressants aren't going to help you either. There is something wrong with the world and that is why you feel bad; there is something major missing from your lives, but you cant put your finger on it, or is this just the way it's always been and so we have to just put up with it, or the problems are too big for us to handle and what can we really do about it, we have to work to take care of ourselves and then we are just too tired to worry about the rest of the world after that, right? Wrong. We are responsible for the way we live our lives, and how we live reflects our values. The problem is our values are all screwed up because we have been buying into what others want us to want and want us to value and want us to do. The time for change is now.

I'm a work in progress. Probably too sensitive to the world around me; I guess i expect to much from it. I believe in animal rights, but that doesn't mean that I want to own them. I'm a bibliophile, and I like to haunt the aisles of libraries and book stores. I fancy myself an artist. Liberation from the ego is a pursuit. I like poetry, chess, juggling, thoughtful movies, and Jazz. I don't see why consumerism is so important, why people seem to care more about stuff, than other people or the millions of animals being tortured so that some people can get rich or enjoy a certain taste or texture. What do we value, why not the diversity of life and nature instead of glorifying violence and raping the planet. We are destroying the very things that make life possible, and all for what, what will it matter how much gold and silver you have if there is no clean water, or air... But one thing I don't like about myself is that for all my talk I don't do very much, its just hard to know where to begin, and because i need to work to live a life not under a bridge, and there are so many other things that take up one's time, that I don't find or make the time to be an activist. And I do think that if we could come together for a cause we could change things, there are many more good people in the world who do care and know that things are not right but get caught up the system, because it's hard to not get caught up in paying bills and sustaining a certain way of life, but is that way of life really worth pursuing after all.

While I get along with almost anyone, I share the most common interests with people who have a spiritual practice, are interested in/embrace natural health care (massage, chiropractic, herbal medicine, acupuncture, energy work, etc), and fall somewhere within the veg spectrum.

My ideal life partner would also be someone with a great sense of humor who is interested in both exploration of the internal self (meditation) as well as the external world (travel). I've been vegan since 2011 (it was my birthday gift to myself) and I love it. Granted I started for selfish reasons (to be healthier) but after a while I started feeling very strongly about animal rights. It's very hard to meet vegan people, so here I am. I am using all my cooking skills with my new vegan lifestyle and most people I cooked for so far converted or are about to convert to veganism, so I guess I'm good at it. I don't push people to change their eating habits, I just cook for them! After all, I wasn't born vegan so I need to be tolerant and understanding (however, before being vegan my diet was "Mediterranean", so very little meat and very little dairies)...

I own a small business so all my employees get exposed to veganism (since I usually watch youtube videos and listen to vegan channels while at work). Of course, I don't make it a requirement, but usually employees will get curious about my lifestyle and start asking questions, which I'm very happy to answer of course. Should my business expand, a vegan eatery will be built into it. Can't wait for that moment!!!

As far as interests, first and foremost I'd like for the world to be a much better place, and my approach is from the top down. It would take hundreds of years to convince every single person to stop eating animals, but if we could convince even a single famous person to be vegan, there could be thousands (or more) that may follow. This approach is open to discussion of course, so drop me a line...I also play several instruments and I would love to make some vegan songs (I make the music, you write the lyrics). I'm also interested in philosophy, photography, film making, graphic arts, biology, etc.

I feel about 20 years younger (really) because of my vegan diet (I also try to stay away from processed foods, and yes, that includes dark chocolate and EVOO), and honestly I would like to exercise more (but I cook twice a day, so that counts as workout, right?)...I'm working on that (need to find some motivating factors, but it's hard since I already feel great)...

It would be really nice to unite and get organized. It is so difficult to find vegan (or even vegetarian) people here, so it's very important to get together (the world should be the exact opposite--it is animal eaters that should be a very small minority, but we live in a very imperfect world that feeds upon its imperfections...)

I gotta come clean - I'm really more of a locavore and paleo gal than a vegan or vegetarian although most of my meals are vegan/macrobiotic. Casa de Luz is my second-home. I love to live a simple, quiet, and peaceful life. I enjoy being surrounded by art, rocks, wood, and plants. My favorite place to be is outdoors, backyard, beach, parks, gardens, ect. Music, classic rock, spanish balad, pop, alternative, blues, and soul, I enjoy listening to. Reading is a favorite pastime of mine. I am selective of movies, I enjoy a variety but prefer to watch then in the comfort of my own home and avoid horror, very violent, corny movies. I do enjoy travelling but I do need time during the day to slow down and re-charge. I eat well because I simply enjoy vegan foods,veggies, veggie juice, fruits, spirulina, chorella,and legumes; and small amounts of nuts, seeds, avocado, light fish/poultry. Because of my inability to metabolize large amounts of fat, and the need to keep warm and grounded I cannot do a strict vegan diet with much fat/salt. Spirituality, with some elements from a variety of different views, provided it is personal, is very important to me. Desire to grow continually is important.

I'm strong, chivalrous, articulate, warm, curious and care deeply for my friends and enjoy living life.

I believe animals have rights - the Golden Rule applies everywhere - so I'm a vegetarian (since age 17), Honestly - I think bliss ultimately evades us if we don't pay attention. That does not mean we must be perfect - far from it - but at least be cognizant of the costs and consequences of our actions...and tread softy where we can.

I support groups that rescue animals and my cats (just found another) were once strays.

I registered with this site because finding those who agree with this viewpoint removes one major obstacle to really connecting.

Professionally, I'm an astronomer/physicist and am well established at my job. I enjoy traveling and have not yet decided where to settle permanently.

My home is on Clear Lake, so I kayak and row and I built and fitted my sailboat "Arcadia" to go cruising. I stay physically fit. I run a few miles nightly. At 37 I ran a half-marathon at 9800' (and I've tried to keep it up!). I have hiked extensively in the US, Canada, Europe, the Western Pacific and recently an Atlantic Isle. I spend most of my contemplative time writing music and bits of poetry or commiserating with my friends over a glass of wine about life's operatic moments.. Musical composition has started to immerse and carry me. I have created some decent melodies and lyrics - mostly pop and folk. I figure music is emotion made audible...it certainly writes itself that way :) I still find occasion to show folks the heavens through the telescope or work in the garden - watching owls, frogs, and butterflies - all from my little wooded sanctuary. Houston has been a holding pattern, its affordable and its nice living on the water (except hurricanes!), but I will not stay here indefinitely and have been looking at vacation retirement homes in many places (with both water and mountains). In January I went to the Big Island (HI) looking for properties. In June it was London and Ascension Island. Off to CA and WA in the fall.

I'm an easy going, straight-forward guy. Mostly right now I participate in many sports - playing ice hockey, triathlons, marathons, etc. I'm a very motivated person when I have a goal in mind - and I enjoy pushing myself to the next level, but I'm not like an uber-aggressive competitive douche-bag about it.

I also enjoy doing lots of different activities - movies, museums, and especially music. I was a music major in school before I realized I didn't want to be a starving artist - but still enjoy playing piano whenever I get a chance. My "job" right now is in computers.

People think I'm funny in a dry, sarcastic kind of way (so sometimes people might just think I'm weird instead of funny - that's just a theory though, I really have no idea). Anyway, this paragraph isn't making much sense.

I love animals (have a great Dalmatian named "Max") and enjoy volunteering for the local Humane Society animal shelter. It's extremely gratifying to see unwanted dogs & cats taken into new "forever" homes - they all deserve it.

I consider myself a very pragmatic person. I'm huge on loyalty so I have a very select group of friends. I've tried other dating services, but I've found that I can't date people with a dietary choice that's very different from mine. So yeah, it's pretty obvious that I'm pro-animal rights or else I wouldn't be here.
