Describing myself, where to begin? In real life, I am modest and humble, preferring my actions to speak about my character, but you can't see my actions online (no youtube videos, yet) so I will make an exception here . I am a very intelligent person with a quirky sense of humor and love for animals. I am still somewhat of a recent convert to veganism; I had been vegetarian for 1 1/2 years before moving to North Carolina. I spent this past January and February transitioning to veganism and have been vegan ever since, and it was the best decision I have made for myself and the animals in a long time. I grew up with dogs in the family and I currently have one slightly-possessive dog named Honey who looks like an adorable real-life version of Scooby Doo. I am also technically a cyborg, as I recently lost my hearing 3 years ago but I was very lucky to be given back normal hearing through cochlear-implant technology. Before I lost my hearing completely, I wore hearing aids, and I have found that cochlear implants gives me the best of both worlds - I hear so much more than I ever did with hearing aids and my hearing is completely detachable, which means I don't have to hear anything I don't want to (I can feel your envy right now ). Because of being hearing impaired, i also have a deep love for hearing things, whether it be music of almost any kind, stimulating conversations, noise, and even silence. Along with the vegan transformation, I am getting back into working out and being more healthy physically, and striving to be a positive influence for others, and to minimize my impact on this earth and its inhabitants. I am into geeky things like Japanese anime and video games, but I am also into nature and the outdoors and trying out new things. I hope to meet more like-minded veg*ns in these parts!

As the world races past me, I'm not carried by it's vacuum and it has been difficult to escape this type of lifestyle because it means that I had to make changes and people would not always agree. But I have found what is important to me in the process, so I feel like the rock that rafters have to go around as the current carries them downstream. I take time to catch photos of beauty and things I've never seen before and my daughter does too. Before I had to keep them all in my mind but now it's easier because they are on memory cards. Lol. We also hike, go to the BRP a few times a year to see the waterfalls and campout. We have a horse or I should say it has us. Very healing animals indeed. My profession involves climbing and is semi-dangerous, but it allows me to set my own schedule and also keeps me in shape.

I am seeking the best ways to stay healthy in my diet and daily habits. It seems that there is always more to learn from our bodies, nature and other people. Just getting into this all raw diet, although I have eaten mostly fruit and veggies for many years as they fulfill my cravings. I don't have time to correspond with allot of different people but will appreciate any input/encouragement that may help in this transition to a total healthy new lifestyle which I want to acheive. My name is Chuu, and despite what you'd expect from a name like that, I'm white. I'm a fairly geeky girl... if you name it, I've prolly dabbled in it. I like sci-fi and some fantasy(but I prefer the pewpew over the klangklang), and I love small animals, especially my pet rats. I like some anime but I am not an anime girl-I dont squee or glomp. I am ALWAYS reading something. Im in a relationship with a non-vegetarian guy, he enjoys all the vegetarian and vegan foods but still loves the other stuff! Anyways it is nice to talk to people that feel the same as i do about animals. I know just because they arnt as advanced as us that they still have feelings like us and fear death just the same. There is such a wide varitey of foods for us why do people want to kill animals to eat? I will never get it! Always felt this way since i was a child. I find meateaters very iggnorant. I raise my daughter vegetarian and she is never sick. Yet people love to tell me what im doing is wrong. I cant stand talking to meat eaters about my being a vegetairan unless they truley want to be one. Im really a extremly nice person. I care about everything. I've been vegetarian (and later vegan) since November 1990. I see all the reasons; animal rights, health, environmental, etc - it all just reaffirms my commitment. I've been in NC for a few years and like this area. There's a nice veg community and great local music scene. I am definitely left leaning politically. I can be sarcastic, silly, serious - all kinds of s words. I love bringing friends together and hosting gatherings, but I am independent and need time to myself sometimes as well. I'm agnostic or atheist. I think I am atheist, but I just don't like the negative connotation that word has. Fun things include time with friends, live music, movies, cooking and eating out, hosting parties/potlucks - just regular stuff. I like outdoor activities like hiking and camping. I am a good cook. I attempt to do more good than I do harm and try to enjoy life to the fullest. I can be an introvert or an extrovert depending on my mood.
