In Detail:
The information collected from our members is divided into the following categories:

1. Profiling information: Your profile is available for other members or website visitors to view at Veggiedate. Member's profiles include a description and possibly photo(s), and other standard information to aid in finding matches; such as height, religion, etc, see our search page for other criteria used. Your viewable profile does not include, your email or date of birth.
 
 

2. Email address: Your email address is NOT released to any member whom you "send a note", they receive an email forwarded by veggiedate which includes your member number but not your email address.

Your "send a note" email message is forwarded directly to the recipient; we do not store these messages anywhere.

VeggieDate may contact you for administrative purposes regarding your account, such as when your membership is nearing renewal.

Veggiedate will also send email as per your selected enrollment subscriptions:

  • Offers from companies/organizations working jointly with VeggieDate
  • Food Safety Alerts
  • Special offers from Veg businesses

These selections can be changed by you at anytime, via update ad. No selections are ever required (for participation in VeggieDate).

  3. The VeggieDate database resides at Pixel.net in a shared hosting environment. We rely on their expertise and specialization in ColdFusion web hosting to protect our database against loss, misuse, alteration and unathorized access. No claim is made as to the impenetrability of the system or its resilience against break-in attacks.
  4. Billing information: When purchasing a subscription using a credit card, you can submit your credit card information through our secure form . Your information is encrypted and transmitted using SSL, Secure Sockets Layers, the latest in encryption technology, to protect your credit card information while in transit, via the Internet, to our servers.
  Notification of Changes
If we materially change our privacy practices or how we use your personally identifiable information, we will email all members and post a notice on our site 30 days prior to the change.
