I just finished my master's thesis on vegetarianism and public health. It's a field I'm passionate about and has me excited to contribute. I play music whenever I have the chance. I love it when I figure out the chords to a song that's stuck in my head on a given day. I just took up the trumpet too, mostly because of a spontaneous trip to New Orleans. I like to stay active, be it organized (like soccer), or just a random hike. Also, snowball fights = the highlight of any winter. Most times when I get on a plane, I’m not on it when it lands. I understand that skydiving is not exactly typical for most people, but I’m not exactly typical myself. At least, that’s how my friends would begin describing me. I’ve found what works for me, and it's different from most others. For instance, starting a company at the age of 19 is a little out of the ordinary. Buying and renovating a fixer-upper isn't uncommon, but the house usually isn’t a 123-year-old Victorian. I was a vegetarian for 12 years and decided to become vegan almost a year ago. My main motivation had to do with the despair I feel over the unbelievable amount of suffering that 'food' animals have to endure. I simply do not want to contribute to their suffering any longer. Hello.. it's a little ackward to talk about yourself but here goes.. I am a person who is optimistic and basically happy and healthy. I enjoy travel, friends, canoetrips in Killarney Park or Algonquin, family time ( 3 adult children living away ). I work as a professional but I am thinking about retirement relatively soon and future adventures and companionship. I have been divorced for many years, brought up my children on my own and have been basically too busy to look very hard for a partner. However, now i am feeling like the next 30 years of my life are wide open and have amazing potential. I would like to share all of that with someone who can appreciate and nurture mutual friendhip and love.
I have been a vegetarian for 40 years and also follow an Eastern philosophy that adds depth and focus to my life. I don't mind if you are not interested.. only that you are pleased that it is of interest to me. I am basically an easy-going peron but at the same time energetic and curious about life. I have explored Europe, Thailand, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, UAE, and the Caribbean. I have stayed in an ashram in India. I earned by scuba licence in India on the Andaman Islands two years ago with my daughter.. an amazing experience. I still need to see Bhutan, Vietnam and Laos!! Hi :)
I was a vegetarian for 3 years before becoming what I'd like to call a "flexible" vegetarian. I prefer to eat vegetarian food and all the food I cook for myself is veg/pesc. But, sometimes out of convenience or for ease, I'm less strict. That being said, dating someone who is veg or veg-friendly is very important to me. Like many vegetarians, I take my health quite seriously. That's not to say I don't indulge, but I prefer to put mostly healthy food into my body.
Anyway, eating habits aside, besides cooking, I also enjoy reading, watching documentaries and nature shows, going for walks in nature, playing hockey, watching women's hockey or women's soccer, travelling, hanging out with friends (I'm an introvert so I prefer things like one-on-one conversations, dinner parties/potlucks, casual hangouts, coffee/dinner dates, etc).
I'm the type of person that wants to give my heart and my all to someone. I love the feeling of caring for someone deeply, of loving someone. I want to be able to do kind things for a girl and show her how much I care for her and adore her. In return, I value expression of feelings and those little gestures that surprise you and reinforce feelings. I also love physical contact (hugs, cuddles, kisses).

I love traveling for long periods of time (especially to hot countries). I've lived in Mexico, India and Ecuador.
