I am a chronically hopeful cynic with sharp wit, a big smile and a love of the unique and quirky. I volunteer for causes related to women's health, animal rights, and HIV/AIDS prevention. It's not so much that I refuse to compromise my principles, but that I honestly don't know how. To recharge, I enjoy climbing, riding my bike, cooking for friends and diggin' in, reading, and wandering (preferably on foot). Raised as a nomad, I suffer from wanderlust, but hope to stay in one place long enough to go to cultivate an enviable garden. Politically, it would be fair to say I lean left. Way left. Musically, I thrive on variety. I greet people when I pass them on the street, I try to make eye contact with and smile at children, I always check the collars of stray dogs and call their homes. In 2011, I want to be mindful of the times, people, and activities that make me feel positive and to increases those in relation to all the stuff that doesn't.
