Bonjour!!

I'm glad you've found your way to this blip of cyberspace where I can hopefully convey to you the nature of my existence.

But from a subjective perspective...

I'm a man of various talents, passions, deficiencies, hopes, and dreams. Every day seems to be a new journey. More times than not this is more of a mental journey than it is physical. In the last couple of years I have really taken a step back and assessed what really matters; in doing this I've noticed that what matters to me most is far different that 9 out of 10 people I come in contact with on a daily basis.

I spend my waking moments in awe of how the world has come to the state that it is in. I'm so grateful for the people that have helped me to where I am today and thrilled to interact with everyone that I get to see on a daily basis. People truly are amazing; the ability for us learn from one another and flourish is so awesome. In my short time here I've learned that everyone has something to give to the world. There isn't one person I've met thus far that hasn't taught me something or contributed to the greater good of others.

On that note I should tell you about myself a little.

Now a few months ago I would have began telling you where I work and what I'm going to school for. But I've since learned that these are not the most important parts of life. What do they have to offer? Money....and some knowledge...at the cost of more money. Seems pretty ridiculous to me. What does linger on my mind 24/7 is the possibility of my fire pager going off. Whether it's medical/fire/rescue related I will drop pretty much anything to help those in dire need. Being on the local Volunteer Fire Department has helped me to appreciate my own blessings and never take anything for granted because I've seen a lot of folks' world get flipped upside down in a matter of seconds. Giving back to the community in this manner is the most amazing feeling ever. I could never give it up and probably never will.

With that I can tell you that in my free time I truly enjoy reading, listening to all sorts of music, cooking, enjoying endless hot cups of authentic tea (sometimes with a good book in hand while other's in complete silence and solitude appreciating every sip), spending time with family and friends, being outside at every possible opportunity, backpacking, exploring nature, swimming in preferably fresh waters, biking for sport and leisure, running, and walking in the wilderness. I also enjoy photographing things that are fascinating. Most of the time this is natural phenomena that most people would find quite mundane. That's the magic of it though; finding the beauty in the little things. Too often we get caught up in what we are told we should be satisfied by. At some point I stopped listening to what "they" were saying and began listening to what my heart told me. This is when I truly began to live!

Now onto what pays the bills and allows for educational advancement. A few years ago I began working as a full-time Industrial Firefighter/ EMT for the world's largest producer of polycrystalline silicon (the essential component that allows any electronic device or Solar Panels to function). It's about 1 square mile of chemical process that takes a significant amount of time, experience, and stupidity to become comfortable with being the one running in while the employees are running out. The job has it's risky moments but for the most part it is actually quite fun and challenging. Also, I'm mostly through a Bachelor's in Exercise Science and have realized that the atrocious loans that I'd have to undertake just to complete the degree isn't worth it at this time. When I have the fundage then back to school I shall go. Until then, it's time to live life; i.e. garden, go backpacking, learn about natural homebuilding, cook, enjoy time with friends/loved ones, etc. This life's too short to sit around and worry about massive debt and have to constantly work just to pay it all off!!!

I'm fascinated by some of the most common things. I can get lost in thought cutting up vegetables because they are such pieces of art. Sometimes I will stare out a window in awe of how incredible everything is and how lucky I am. I take nothing for granted. I have no prejudices. Every person I come in to contact with is just a human being. I don't care if your the wealthiest politician in the state or a homeless person. I treat all beings in the same manner until proven otherwise. Watch THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE and you'll understand why. Empathy is the single most important factor in human social interaction. If you can establish empathy as part of your personality then you have matured more than most. Everyone has something to contribute to this world. If you can look past negative flaws and find the good in everyone than they can learn to flourish on their positive traits and become better people.
