I'm a 59 year old, single, professional. I am overeducated - a PhD in Psychology and an OD in Optometry. I came to Worcesyearning 2010 as the dean of humanities & soc sciences. I like the area but, and as an ex-New Yorker, I am happy to be near NYC & Boston. I was born in NYC and have lived in Boston, St. Louis, CT and many other places. I never married and don't have children but my 2 nephews in Baltimore are a source of joy to me (and I can always give them back to my sister when they get to much for me - sort of the best of both worlds ;-)) I asked several woman friends of mine to describe me and the responses were: a great catch, a great guy, a prince among men (one of my more theatrical friends) and who are you again? (one of my left over '60s friends). I think of myself as ethical and moral (though my morality might be considered non-standard), spiritual, smart and educated (2 different things), and relatively life competent. I value my extended, non-biological family and am basically a decent guy who is developing a better life.

I never kill spiders, would rather read a book than watch anything on television, love cats and a cup of tea best but only because I don't have a dog-friendly life and I'm decaffeinated. I'm a writer who loves books, the arts, nature; a liberal who loves a good rant now and then, watching birds and the stars, visiting a museum, gardening, antiquing, architecture, archaeology. Spending time with my child comes first, but I'm rebuilding my own time as well these days. Gentle hiking, canoeing-kayaking, especially in fall and spring are my favorite outdoor things.

Hello! I just moved to MA from CT. I don't know many people over here in the Worcester (suburbs) area and I am single so I hope to meet someone that has interests like mine. I started becoming a vegetarian in 1984. I would like to meet someone who is at least vegetarian but vegan or raw food would be great as well as I would love to learn more from you. I have 3 lovable Siamese cats and 3 well behaved little "lady" mice (LOL) these are my kids! I love animals and belong to many animal right organizations. Slightly nutty, extremely honest... I'd rather be hiking or kayaking, hanging out at a playground or jumping on a trampoline than spending time in a bar or club. I'm not at all religious but Buddhist philosophy makes a lot of sense to me. I love roller derby and horror moves even though I can't stand violence. I like coffee more than I should, I can't spell without spell-check and I'm a lousy singer but that doesn't stop me from belting out 80's songs (especially hair-metal) in the car when I don't think anyone can hear me. I want to learn to hula hoop, trade in my guitar (which I can't play) for a ukulele and to speak another language. I'm really shy but I think I'm pretty fun once you get me out of my shell. It's been a long time since I've been in the "dating scene" so I'm not in any giant rush - mainly looking right now for someone fairly like minded to have some adventures with and if something more comes of it, then who knows?

new veggie on the block. i am working towards vegan (hooked on chocolate, of course!). always been a bit weird (hipster i guess except i dont have an ugly haircut), and def a part of the fet lifestyle - im a Little. would LOVE to find a guy close to my age whos experienced at being a Daddy. big into classical, indie, rock, and jazz. huge makeup/esthetics nerd. also big into recycling and finding new uses for old things. i also enjoy bargain hunting, im a big online shopper. am partnered with a cat, so must love cats. in the summer i like gardening (i own roses), walking, camping, and anything else outdoors. in the winter i spend all my time trying to stay warm, and i sleep a lot. love books, but not super intellectual non-fictiony things, i just read a shit-ton of fiction. getting into yoga, and waiting for it to be warm enough to go walking/biking again. i dont own a car, so im lucky to live in a city of public transit. i love tea, and cilantro. and maybe cilantro tea.

I'm currently going to school in Massachusetts, but plan on moving back to SoCal after im done. I love travelling and doing outdoors activity, especially skiing and hiking. I'm an artsy, musician and science nerd. Been a vegetarian my whole life and transitioned to a vegan 4 years ago. I like to think of myself as a pretty good chef, love cooking =) I cant imagine being/living with someone who would turn my fridge/kitchen into a graveyard, sounds horrible, but lets be realistic now.
