My relationships with animals, and humans, are important to me. I have three of them living with me -- a dog and two cats (why do people have to be "dog people" or "cat people" anyway?) When I considered entering the world of on-line dating, I decided first and foremost that meat eating was a deal breaker. Social causes and human values in general are priorities for me. I work in public health, though that is a tough business (ask me details if you are interested). I've done volunteer work for a few non-profits. And I donate regularly to animal causes (big surprise), and environmental causes, somtimes disaster relief, and the political left. I do not understand how we can live in the world's largest economy and have homeless people on our streets. It's totally unnecessary. I believe wealthy people should share because it's the right thing to do. I have a great, supportive community of family, friends, and acquaintances. with meat eaters among them. I am pretty social and enjoy various art and culture events, including art museums, films, and lectures. I have traveled a great deal in my adult life -- for work and vacations, but I made a conscious decision a few years ago to slow down and enjoy the great city life in Boston. My most recent vacation was to Cuba, and I am enamorada! Next I'll be in Spain visiting my niece who is studying there. I will miss my friends and home while I'm gone! I've been very driven about my career in the past, and have gotten pretty intense about it, but I've slowed down a bunch on that too, and enjoying life outside of work is a big priority. Early retirement anyone? I have a hundred ideas for that: yoga, language study, art, music, random classes...
