I like adventure and being active, but I don't mind just hanging out and relaxing. I love climbing mountains, and spending days hiking and camping in the backcountry, but staying at home, cooking some delicious vegan food, and drinking some wine sounds like a perfect way to spend an evening. I'm also pretty happy riding bicycles, having coffee and conversation, listening to music, watching movies, and drinking fancy beers. I try to maintain a sense of humor about life, but I can be pretty serious and analytical at times. I hate that so much humor has to be at someone else's expense. I can be a goofball sometimes, and I love to laugh as much as the next person...but I like to think before I laugh. At home I am vegan, and I try to eat vegan most of the time, but my job makes that difficult. Vegetarian is easy, but vegan can be tough. My job also dictates where I live, which just happens to be the island paradise of Oahu. It would be hard to pick a better place to live...

Hi, I'm a marine biology student and president of the vegetarian club at HPU. I'm a senior and will be graduating in May. I'm usually a quiet and reserved person on the outside, but once you get to know me I let my vivacious personality show. My favorite hobbies are hiking, biking, birding, cooking, and gardening. Of course I love the ocean, but I barely go beach enough. Large parties and bars are not usually my scene, and I prefer small low-key gatherings. I was brought up in a Lutheran family of 6 children, but I'm not very interested in most western religions or in having kids. I'm a pretty hard-core animal lover and my friends tell me that I'm one of the rare people who find all living things (including spiders and sea cucumbers) adorable. I'm a vegan for many reasons, mostly environmental. I believe animal rights are important, but I avoid radicals at all costs because I feel their aggressive passion turns people off to the cause.
